New Limited Edition Lace and Mint Messenger Bag in the Shop!

Isn't she lovely!
I am super pleased with this here bag.
You might wanna snatch it up, before I decide to keep it myself!!!
Seriously guys. That happens sometimes. I make something that I love so much, I just can't part with it, and it gets yanked from my shop and put right into my very own closet. Or the closet of one of my littles. Not very good from my shop's point of view- but really, sometimes things are just to lovely to let go!

Ok ok. I'll quit it. But for real.
Does that ever happen to any of you shop owners?!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend! :)

Mom's Dress to Girl's Dress Upcycle Tutorial DIY

I picked up this dress at a garage sale for myself, but it didn't fit right.
So I spent about 1/2 hour revamping it, and now it fits my sweet lil Liv!
Waaaaaay cuter on her than it was on me! I am pleased!
All I did was...
...trace a dress of hers onto it with chalk, extending the length, and leaving room for seam allowance.
Cut it out along the lines.
Turn it right sides facing and pin shoulders, arm pits, and sides.
I made a couple pleats on the back side to keep the shoulders lined up.
Sew along the pins.
Re-enforce seams w stronger stitch.
Fold up the bottom hem, iron. Fold again, iron, and sew into place using my double needle.
And that's it and that's all!
I love it on her.
I'm trying to stop myself from cutting up more dresses from my closet-that fit me fine! :)

Have a good week!

Summertime Thoughts

'Stop and enjoy the small stuff Sylv.' ...I tell myself this all the time.

I've always been in a hurry. I've been told a handful of times,
"Have patience sweetheart, your day will come."

I wanted to get married when I was 16. I remember feeling like the fact that I didn't get my driver's lisense right on my 16th birthday was such a traumatic experience.

I wanted to be in our forever home promptly after we married.
How could I get settled in an apartment  knowing we'd only be there a short while!?

I already want to be a gramma- it looks so fun.
Snuggling and spoiling these babies all while still getting sleep at night!? I'm in!

I want to be retired so I can travel with Mr. Liv...
I watch my grandparents charging all around the nation together, and it looks so dreamy!

But. I'm here in this crazy busy stage of motherhood. And I bet I'm going to miss it.
I wonder if someday, when I'm older, I'll wish life would rewind instead of fast forward.

Living in the moment is hard for me. I'm anxious as well as excited for the future.
But when I stop to remind myself to slow down and enjoy today, things go smoother.

Today I scooped up my wayward toddler, went out in the yard, and picked a pretty peony to bring into the kitchen. We took our time, and enjoyed ourselves. I lived in the moment with her for that little while that we meandered on the grass.

Now I have this beautiful reminder sitting on my counter, reminding me to live for today.
For tomorrow, it may no longer be a beautiful flower, as it will wither and die.

Do you find yourself living in the future?

Enjoy your weekend! Don't forget to stop and smell the roses! :)

Healthy Cookie Dough Dip (A No Sugar Added Dessert!)

Yes, it really is healthy.
Not just compared-to-the-real-deal healthy, its like, good for you healthy!

Ok, its not quite as to die for as actual cookie dough, but it sure is good!
And there is NO SUGAR ADDED!
For reals, its sweetened naturally! :)
(well, except for the chocolate chips, but I did use dark!)

It is good all by itself, on graham crackers, or whatev you want to do with it, I bet its still good!

Here is how I made it...

Ingredients:
     1 can chickpeas, drained
     1 1/4 cups pitted dates
     large pinch of salt
     2 tsp vanilla extract
     pinch of baking soda
     1/4 cup natural peanut butter
     3 Tbsp old fashioned oats

Directions:
In a bowl, cover the dates with 1/2 cup water. Let sit 8 hrs. Combine all ingredients except the chocolate in food processor, and let her rip! Let it go for a good ling time, until your mixture is super smooth. Stir in chocolate chips, and enjoy!

Delicious Strawberry Lemonade Slushie Recipe

Mr.Liv took one sip and said it was better than his favorite energy drink.
Seriously. I'm going to make this everyday if it means no more energy drinks!!!! :)

Strawberry Lemonade Slush Recipe

Combine in a blender:
    12 ice cubes
    8 frozen strawberries
    2 scoops of lemonade concentrate
    water (to the full line)
Blend it up for a good long time, until all the ice is crushed.

That's all! Super easy.
It tastes similar to the freckled lemonade that I like to make. :)

Have a good week my friends!

DIY Flower Crown Tutorial & Lil Jersey Calf

There are so many bushes and plants blooming right now.
I couldn't resist but to make a little crown out of some!
Here is what I did...

I grabbed some scissors and picked a pretty bush to attack.
Snip off a few thin branches and use twist ties to attach them into one long branch.
Once you have desired length, twist tie the ends together.
Then tuck the flowers in, and wind them around the branches,
to make the crown more compact. Use more twist ties if you need!
Now approach your victim princess,
let her check out her crown before putting it on her,
and then quick snap a few pics before she ditches it! :)
This is Lily.
She will provide my family with fresh milk some day we hope.

Have a good weekend!

And then.... We got our kids to eat fried eggs.

I'm serious. Every one of them at their FRIED egg. All gone. Happy plates.
All we had to do was make some heart and star shaped Toad-In-The-Hole!
I don't know why its called that, so you better not ask.
There is no toad involved, but there is a hole...

A cookie cutter hole in a piece of bread.
Butter in the pan.
Plop the bread in the pan.
Crack the egg (the Toad I guess) into the hole.
Cook to your own liking- however you like your toad, that's fine.

;)
It was too good an accomplishment not to share w ya'll!
I love when my kids happily eat something different!

Boys Wallets DIY Gift Idea

I love when I come up with DIY gift ideas for special people in my life!
I love it even better when I can find time to actually make them too! :)
I made two of these for two little boys in my life.
They are years apart in age, but a wallet is a gift that works for boys of almost any age!
Add some cash, your business card (they feel real important to have a business card of someone they know!), and maybe a little note about how special they are.
Package it all up in a homemade origami box, a card, some yarn, and you're all set! :)
To make the wallets, I followed this easy tutorial from noodlehead.
I actually used an old skirt from my closet for the outside fabric!
Old dress pants would work well too.

Have fun!

P.S. My laptop is fixed!!!
So hopefully I'll be able to post more often now!
If the wild toddler allows it. We'll see...

New Buttons On Old Dress Redo

Why do we put things off that only take up minutes to complete!?
This was one of those projects that sat there forever waiting to be done.
Once I finally did it, I wondered- why did I wait so long?!
It was easy and fast!
I picked up this little girls dress at the thrift store, and didn't like the cheap plastic buttons that came on it. So I dug through my button stash, and found mix matching metal buttons.
Much better! :)

Don't put it off any longer!
Hop up and do that quick project you've been putting off!

Enjoy your day, my lovely readers! :)
